Kimberly Brazwell is a native of Columbus, Ohio and has been writing and performing since 1998. Kim is known for her irreverent sense of humor and has appeared on national poetry slam teams representing Columbus in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2010. She has featured in cities ranging from Chicago to NYC, and for a time was Columbus’ reigning undefeated head-to-head haiku death match champion. In 2004 Kim became the first poet in Columbus to appear on an NPS finals stage, finishing an individual 6th in the nation. She has written two chapbooks, has appeared in several other poetry compilations and was included in Marc Smith’s Complete Idiot’s Guide to Slam Poetry. In 2015, her voice and poetry appeared on ReQuested – a tribute album to A Tribe Called Quest by Polar Entertainment artist and producer, Satele. Kim is a diversity trainer and consultant and often uses her poetry for social justice advocacy.
